The LIR stream has returned, but is Channelcasting over?

The Stream Audio Player http://www.wlir.com

Windows Media Player http://www.streamaudio.com/stations/asx/WLIR_FM.asx

I'm not convinced that TMO has completely trashed the FM Channel Cast idea. They have returned to the previous music formats, but that doesn't mean they are going back to commercials, on air talent etc. TMO has always been about experimenting on the fly, and tweaking to see what works. I'm guessing that the sponsorship hours and no DJ formats will play out for a while. I never did understand why they felt the need to mess with the three existing formats in order to make the other changes. I hope I'm wrong about the on air talent, but somehow, I just don't see them tossing it all so quickly.

Well, Andre is back at LIR and they do seem to have also brought back some of their specialty shows, but they still seem to be doing the sponsorship hours. I guess if a month or so has passed and there's still one ad an hour, it's a safe bet that they've stuck with that aspect of the programming.

A visit to the Long Island Press website displays the links to Party 105, WLIR and The Bone, but the sites still forward to the old channelcast site.

After listening for 15 minutes or so, I have only heard "WLIR streaming on the Internet" liners of one sort or another. I (like most of the world) can't hear 107.1 WLIR, so I have to assume that the webstream is not the same as the on-air broadcast. Does anyone care to confirm this?

I just checked the webstream on wlir.com, and it's the same as the radio, just a few seconds behind. They're not putting liners on between every song, so maybe you just caught a bunch of songs where they didn't identify themselves very much.

They changed the logos on the fmchannelcast site to WLIR and Party 105.3, so it looks like what was said about sticking with the channelcast thing may be correct. Hey, I'll take it -- only a couple quick sponsor spots per hour and a hell of a lot better music on both stations!

But I also do wish they would bring some air talent back to both stations!

is CH-casting over? No they Stunting.

They switching to WLIR and PArty 105 format music is just a stunting session until after the Holidays.

Then after Holidays are all over, they switch to new real format...All Christmas music. LOL

OK, I just joke because I love.

Happy Seasons Greetings to All.

> Hell, since TMO is all about bringing back failed radio stations, why not give Modern Rock 98.5 WDRE a chance? I know that would be my number one preset.
