I am new to XM, and was listening to America 10 and they are doing a production called the long hall. Exactly what is this?

It's basically a blowout of every '50s through '00s title in XM's country music library, arranged roughly chronologically -- by year, but not by exact date of release. XM bills it as "every song to hit the Top 40 country charts, all of them," but that's a lie. XM doesn't have every song to hit the Billboard top 40, as many of the lesser hits from the '50 through '70s have never made it onto CD and are unavailable to XM.

Still, like XM's pop equivalent "It" (formerly known as "The Monster," but changed after a legal threat), the Long Haul is enjoyable and a good way to hear songs that don't get played often on XM's country channels.

Re: The Long Haul

Personally, (though I doubt it'll happen) once it's all over, I'd like to see XM do like they've done on the Deep Tracks Essential 5002...Have them run the whole Long Haul straight through once it's all over. Or do like "It", and spread it out amongst all the country channels. Yeah, it's long, but so is the Deep Tracks thing, and they've done that every year...Though, I noticed this year it was about three days shorter than last year's version.
