The Loop's 3-7pm Opening

I am listening to the Loop as I write this and Byrd is in covering for Pete McMurray who is off today. Instead of looking outside, why doesn't Loop management just move Byrd to the 3p-7p slot? As soon as he gets on the air, he brings a certain energy to the airwaves. Byrd has an unbelievable knowledge of rock and roll and the artists. He knows the market and the listeners. His Loop on Demand concept would work well in the afternoon drive. In short, he would be great. They can bring Crazy Ray back to fill the 7p-12 midnight slot and have a really good line-up. Just a thought.

I completely agree Byrd from 3 to 7 and Crazy Ray from 7 to Midnight, that sounds like a great lineup Crazy Ray is a very funny
and talented host I was really po'd when they cut him off for no other reason but to save a few bucks. You know the funny thing
about it is? It makes perfect sense so the suits will probably never do it.

Absolutely would have made perfect sense, and miraculously even been a great money saver in the process. Not to mention only firing one instead of two people.

::)But alas, it's yet another crazy (pun intended) decision made by WLUP.

why was there a change in the first place? jonny b, carmen, zakk, bird and ray.. nice line-up with lot's of tunes. nice #'s too... and why
dukes? no leadership, no plan, no real programmers in the building and a very down vibe amongst the remaining few. Marv is wining and dining his 25 year old chick while the loop and Q burn. lawsuits flying.... what's next or in this case who's next?

Which makes me wonder, is Emmis planning to unload Chicago?

They really have been grilled by Anaylists to cut a MAJOR cluster or a couple of stations, Chicago would be easy to cut, KMVN couldn't be sold, it's a sister to KPWR and not sure they wanna unload WQCD either, I'm betting the Loop and Q along with St Louis gets cut.
