The Masters 2025

A Masters...like no other.

This year's coverage is designed to promote subscription channels if you want to see everything. Saturday morning play is only on ESPN+, not the main channel. There is also coverage on Paramount+ rather than CBS. So they're using The Masters to hook you on their streaming services.

Meanwhile, the Golf Channel coverage is pretty useless. They're sitting there on the porch, with the play taking place behind them, but they're showing highlights from the day before.

Most people probably tune in for the final round on Sunday.
Golf diehards will watch all 4 days. It's no surprise they want to funnel people over to the subscription services. Many news websites have articles that are subscriber only.
Other sports are doing the same thing. The NFL will be likely moving more games to paid sites only...

The ratings for Sunday should be off the charts. That was an incredible final round full of twists and turns. Rory McIlroy has been pursuing his White Whale like Captain Ahab. Justin Rose made it interesting by pushing it into a sudden death playoff. Both guys are class acts. McIlroy now joins a very select group of golfers to win all 4 Majors. That was epic Sports TV...
