The Max positioners

Heard 'You are the reason we do what we do" over on the Max this morning. Just curious who came up with that over at 98? It was the hugely successful imager on WHBQ in the summer of '76, and one of the best ones I've ever heard. IMHO however 98 doesn't have a quarter of the product Q had to go with the slogan.

Good to see they're pulling out something that worked 29 years ago. :)

But I get your meaning.

At least they have someone on during afternoon drive again. How long has it been since playing AC/DC into Otis Redding into the Beatles into Uriah Heep into Nirvana into John Hiatt worked? Wait, I don't know if that does work, but it's different!

Well, I heard Jarman on Rock 103 this morning filling in for Tim, and it f'in kicked f'in ASS! I don't care what you losers think, jarman & dog are the future of this market!

The Jack-FMs across the country are running a variation of the 70s jingle that says "We are the reason we do what we do at Jack FM". So I guess there is renewed awareness of this old positioner.

You know, it ALMOST works...I keep thinking they are going to make some small change and it will all click, but I haven't heard it yet.

Q had Bob McClain, Tony Maddox, George Klein, Dude Walker, Stu Robb, Shelia!, Jay Michael Davis and Rick Collins "doing the doing" when that package premiered.

Well, King, it's going good. The old customers are making the trek out to what used to be the sticks, but is now in the middle of a subdivison boom. We are just down the street from where Jim Stewart originally tried to open Satellite Records (later STAX). Just as he had to deal with the train coming by and ruining takes, and I have to stop the occasional voice over and say "hang on a second" till the rumble passes.

And I really don't, having only been here since '99...
