The May Book

Anyone care to take a guess on who did better or worse?
Why do stations like KYST,KGOL,KLVL,KGBC,KXYZ never seem to appear on ppm and when you hear them or go to one of their events they seem to pull in a good crowd?

I figure the top 5 are KBXX, KODA, KTBZ, KRBE, and KLTN. I don't know, surprise me. To answer your second question, must be family & friends, cause the 5 stations you mentioned have very few listeners in their current, respective incarnations. PPM can verify that.

Rumor has it here at k$%e that univision will be making a format change and piolin will have a new home soon.

You and your rumors!!!! Just like the other rumor you said about we will have Tejano on fm soon! Yeah right!! We need facts and proof not rumors.

Purely rumors. Why would Univision hurt their most valuable treasure by sneaking him to another weaker station. KOVE is as good as it for him here in Houston and there is no way Univision will throw Raul Brindis out of KLTN into a weaker station. He's a Household name within thousands of Houstonians. Lots of advertising power behind him.

Sorry, this is pure bull.

You remind the of that individual that was around here when KQQK flipped. "Save our Tejano" jesh, She should have saved herself first. I think her name was Maria. Anyone remember her? or was it a he? Can't remember.

There are some (a lot) of very private people who are suspicious of being wired for ratings. It amazing me that the ratings people get as many takers as they do... or do they???

Who cares! Sat. radio is the way to go....

Why pay 160-180/year for horrible service and sound quality?

I'd rather pay 160-180 year for great music choices/decent quality, then pay nothing for horrible music choices/good quality.
Great music selection, of course, but I dont know if it is just me (probably just me), or is anyone else annoyed by the sound quality? It sounds like you are streaming something at dial-up quality. Sounds horrible. Am I the only one who can't stand it? I had to return it once I heard the sound quality.

Yes, Johnny. You are the only one.

Now to get back on the topic:

Can anybody tell me how all the sports talk stations did in May? I truly never pay attention to the ratings, but I'm dying to know who the King of Sports Radio is! Oh and did the multitude of sports stations have even an aggregate 2 share? Or should I have posted this under the most wasted frequency(ies) thread?

If I remember right XM's brite rate is between 24-48k, not sure about Sirius.

My xm sounds great. My question do the Sat. station read out on ppm?

Not really. Someone feels my pain as well.

The only big complain I always hear from a lot of people is the sound quality. I know people who like to switch back and forth from FM radio and Sat. radio (favorite morning shows) and they can hear the difference.

Dont forget the Support they give. If you ever have a problem with a radio, be prepared to stay on the phone for a LONG time. That is why I canceled mine. The only channel I would of wanted was BPM.
