The Metro New York Dance Radio Coalition IS BACK!

Brother...we feel your pain! :(

No QUESTION Miami/So. Florida should have a dance station. Party 93.1 was a great station. Power 96 was a great station when they were dance.

I'll contact the person that started this. Hey, we all gotta stick together, ya know!

Thanks

Tony I am down with the Dance Music Coalition. We need this along time ago to get the world to notice that dance music is a real genre of music that deserves main stream recognition and commercial radio airplay.

As we speak...I am trying to affiliate up with MANY MANY people as possible, within the radio and music industry to join our movement. That's exactly what this is...A MOVEMENT! I'm actually more angry at Clear Channel than 'KTU since they are taking a lot of their properties into a different direction and unfortunately, 'KTU has been affected by this.

At this point, I'm just trying to do my part...but no way I can do this alone. So radio fans, dance fans....hook up with us!

Im doing my best to help spread the gospal of Metro New York Dance Music Coalition by promoting on many online forums, myspace, and mass emails.

Does this have anything to do with The KTU shift to more classic dance this week? If you haven't noticed they are phasing out current dance unless its Major titles like Madonna Hung Up or Cascada or DHT. I haven't seen Red Carpet, Bob Sinclair , Peter Luts, Luz Divina,David Guetta, Paris Avenue,Freemasons latest song they added,etc... so far.

EXACTLY RadiofanX! Believe me..I have noticed FRONT AND CENTER! :-[

Let me note, I don't have ANYTHING against classic dance. I grew up listening to the original 'KTU and Hot 103/97 back in the days. I had followed disco, freestyle, house, techno...whatever was the latest genre du jour. And even though I was mixed about 'KTU, they did play some things current. But now with the switch to more classics and popular currents by established artists only, I feel that dance music is in some sort of trouble. Which is why I had to get out of this 10 year hiatus and do something (even though I've still been around on boards like these).

We're gaining some good momentum on MySpace but we certainly could use more support. So if you aren't a member already, spread the word :)

Its funny people that occassion listen to KTU tell me they havent noticed a difference lol but then many others said its unlistenable anymore. Lets go people join the myspace site.

...And in Toronto Canada, what was once known for being the dance music station, then later "hot hits hot dance" is now the only hit music station in that market.
At least it kept some sort of dance direction...

Actually Yez..it was Energy 108 back in the early 90's in Toronto that was the motivation of the first run of the coalition. This time around it is what 'KTU did as well as what Party 105.3 is doing!

Energy was originally called Dance 108, as a matter of fact.

you have to become a member of myspace 1st don't you?....
if so it is really easy... hence why many of us have our own pages...

A comment on the ny dance coalition page by a user states that there are already rumors of a station adding current dance music in NYC... can someone look into this?
