According to one East Coast source KSAZ 580 has just orderd all new studio equipment and major programming and Audio Vault equipment. Something is going on besides them making all that money from the infomercial shows.

Wow, they're going to retire the big ol' lumbering RCA turntables in
the cabinet that goes down to the floor and the twin tone arms?

And the two Spotmasters? (Wait, that was KTUC in the 1970s.)

And the cassette machines they use for spot playback during the
Dancin' Danny Babich Disco Polka show? (How many generations
is that Copenhagen dub with the bad Lawrence Welk imitation?)

And the Ampex 350 that Dancin Dan's show is recorded on?
(At least the heads are now cleaned regularly!)

And the transcription lathes in the production room?
(I hope they're still not using the old KCNA labels on the ETs.)

Ron...how close am I? ;D

Dan babich is on to something, Barna should play POLKA music all day. NO ONE ELSE HAS THE FORMAT IN TUCSON.

If Eddie Blazonczyk and Jimmy Sturr read the Tucson board, they are beaming with pride.

Anyone remember Arizona Chet's polka program on KTUC?

If KSAZ is buying equipment, maybe they think the FCC will approve their power increase and change of City of License to Queen Creek. There is a terrrible shortage of AM radio stations in the Phoenix market so KSAZ will rake in the cash as soon as the upgrade takes place.

I remember... HO...HO...HO IT'S THE POLKA JOE SHOW. The show on KSAZ that I really like is "Sounds Of The Arizona" on Saturday. Great folk music.
