"THE MIX" online

Dear Processing Freaks,

We have put "The Mix" online.

We will put some recorded clips on the site after the freakday so you all can enjoy the sound
of the new machines.

Maybe it's nice to put the mix trough your machine and make a reference for your self???
You will be amazed of the sound of the new processing machines, or maybe even dissapointed?

Best Regards,

Processing Freakday Organisation

Thanks! Yes, please do post the recorded clips on your site. I'd be interested to hear them. Being here in the US, I won't be able to make the event :(..

Well, I'm happy to see that the ratio of "normal" songs vs polkas has been increased in favor of the normal songs :) I'm also pleasantly surprised to hear some songs I like to use for testing processing in there.

It's good that the excerpts are a bit longer than the last time... Should be fun!

Regards,
Goran Tomas

Thank you for the positive reaction!

The explaination about the interpretation of the Mix v.s. radio Formats v.s. making choices setting up the preset that suits "best" for the mix will be online soon!

As an extra, on the processing freak day, before the A-B comparisons, there will be a "real live DJ torture test" with several processors... so the settings have to be strong enough to keep that +15dB shouting DJ and -15dB tune between the lines and to keep the audio consistent enough...
With this "window" regarding to "making the preset" you can be nearly sure that every box has a very competetive preset regarding to the "fool / DJ proofness" and next to that, a very good sounding preset with a texture that compares to the original recording (our mix). On this way, the recording that will be placed on our site afterwards the processing freak day, are a very good indication how a box performs "real live"! ;)

The choices of the presetmaker will be claryfied in the matrix so that everyone can interpret why the processor sounds the way it does on a certain format... on this way, people can establish a very objective image about a processor and its sound!

Oldiesstation....

i don't remember asking you which tracks should be in our mix...

The fact that some tracks that "rock", as you claim, aren't in the mix but some other tracks are...
Doesn't mean the mix is a bad average mirror of the daily worldwide real live radio i guess? ;)

Hi All,

We have added a second mix with some real life stuff.

MIX 2:
Processingtest 1 : Dencity and all over sound differences in commercials
Processingtest 2 : Dencity and mastering differences in music from the 80's and today
Processingtest 3 : Voicetracking

Have fun!
