The Mormon Channel on HD2

This is good that they are getting on the radio, but their reach will be far larger on the internet and according to their website, they are in discussions with Sirius/XM to get a channel there. If there are channels for the Protestants and Catholics on S/XM, why not?

Last I checked Mormons don't have enhanced radio-receiving aptitudes the non-Mormon population somehow lacks. I would suspect that the HD2 sub won't come in any better for them than HD2 typically does for the rest of us.

Same deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins HD2 channel in the Steel City. Except Pittsburgh fans will probably be frustrated sooner than the Salt Lake brethren, given that town's famously rugged terrain. The 'Burgh produces legendarily unpredictable VHF & UHF reception, meaning it's likely to be a worst-case market for HD.

Perhaps they could upgrade those tunnel repeaters recently installed to add HD for the Fort Pitt and Squirrel Hill Tunnels:
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/s_358609.html I have no idea of the repeaters are "pass through" and amplify the
HD subcarriers or the current repeaters have to upgraded to include HD. Someone please let us know!
