The BIG story on Action News ...

Sports Talk 950 is running a very healthy spot load - mostly national accounts (a few bottom feeders; not much local). This is in contrast to Oldies 950 which started out running a few hold-overs from the previous standards format and never developed much sales traction (national or local). Even if GM's local sales department is operating at its previous level of incompetence and inactivity, their rep firm is running with the new format and the agencies appear to be buying.

Meanwhile, WHAT with it's new schedule sounds dead and a bit desperate, sort of like a WCOJ for the Inner City. I can see a big race between WHAT and WURD for the cellar of Philly radio.

And for all the talk on this board, out in the real world, probably nobody much notices or cares what happens with either station. Attention paid to a station on the radio board is inverse to its cume and revenue. (Webster's Law)

I don't know who thi swebster cat is but, WCOJ superserves it's 5,000 watt broadcast area. I don't know WHAT and would never listen to WURD but I can assure you mr. webster, you obviously only seem to know a fine AM station like WCOJ from this board and actually do not listen to it, as not a day has gone by where WCOJ has sounded desperate. We certainly are not for the inner city.
PS. Don't let your nose hit the top of the door on your way out.
