The Morning Rush in Raleigh

I caught a little bit of RDU's new morning show yesterday. They have certainly taken the balls off of a political talk radio station in morning drive. I don't know how smart it is for a station that is building its new reputation around Rush Limbaugh and his style of radio to have their morning show talking about how neat it is that Snoop Dogg does a voice for GPS systems.

Also, the chick - Carmen - isn't she a retread? Isn't that the same Carmen that was on 96 Rock with Salt & Dmitri a few years back? I would say those guys are doing much better without her, but hey - maybe Curtis' trash is CC's treasure.
 
Rush was a re-tread at one time. A washed up DJ who re-made himself.

It's only fair to give these new hosts a little time. However, they seem to lack the main necessary
trait to be successful - charisma. Would you want to go to Brig's and have breakfast with them?
 
Right now they sound like what I would expect from a morning show out of Greenville or New Bern and on something other than a News/Talk station. They're certainly not ready for primetime and based on the content of what little I've heard the last two days, a News/Talk format is probably over their heads.
 
When did Jonathan Rush come to town? I just want to be the first to offer a wolcome on behalf of all of us up here on "the boards" to the Morning Rush! It's been a while, bro. I remember when you got in the biz!! :eek: ;D ;D :D ;) :'( I didn't even know you were coming to town. Which frequency and etc?
 
Jonathan Rush is back? With Tall Donna Mason and JVP? Yes! 94z IS BACK!!!!

THIS si where these stations will have tons of trouble. It's HARD to fill 3 or 4 hours of talk radio
 
I noticed yesterday that the hosts of the Morning Rush were different. It was Carmen and somebody. Has CC already made a change? If so that was the shortest AM show ever.
 
They didn't finish the week with the same quarterback who started the game. Guy one was one Monday & Tuesday. Guy two was on Wed-Fri. Maybe they're still doing tryouts (during a BOOK). I would like all the CC apologists to spin THAT into something positive.

Also, the hours 5-9 am don't exist on their website. Again, how can this be a positive
 
If WRDU is having difficulty getting the right formula for a morning show, maybe they should go with "America's Morning News" from 6 until 9am?
 
The WRDU PD has no talk experience and is routinely botching facts and stories in his rip and read morning newscasts. He is nothing more than a shill for Ken Charles the RVP Talk Programming. One of the sales managers over there told me Charles blew a gasket at how shi--y the morning show sounded and changes were made after two days. Is it even possible they can blow this format too?

Bo emails the message around that “It was the right job on paper, but once I got here, it did not feel right for me or my family.” He wisely says “I believe that you must trust your instincts in life, and so I have returned to Charlotte”, where he’ll once again be working for the Fox TV affiliate. He resigned from "Rush Radio" WRDU (106.1) on Tuesday, his second day at Clear Channel’s new talk station.

Wow...all it took for him was two days to see that grass is NOT greener on the other side.
