The Most Underrated CHR in the US

Even though I personally prefer other CHR's over this station, I believe that WIHT Hot 99.5 in Washington DC has to be the most underrated CHR in the nation.

Hot 99.5 has the cleanest top-notch programming, a great LOCAL morning show that is syndicated on several stations across the country, a very balanced middle of the road playlist that does not lean one way or another, various mixshows throughout the weekend, and is #2 in the market with a 6.4 share for May 2011. I don't understand why this station is not talked about more. It deserves alot more credit than it gets.

^I think it's true though that people frequently praise G105, WNCI, KDWB, Kiss Dallas, Kiss Boston, WPRO, etc. for their high ratings, and for some reason Hot 99.5 in DC goes unnoticed (even though they're the #1 music station in that market) - I think it's cause they've basically crept up ratings-wise over the past year or two, and people haven't yet began to notice

To be fair though, the other stations mentioned have been consistently top of their markets for years, so IMO Hot 99.5 still kind of has to prove that it an maintain top-of-market status for a prolonged period of time

This should probably be divided into Large market, Medium Market and Small market to be fair...

To be honest, I have no idea why, but I forget about a lot of stations in DC.

Not a lot of posters on this board live in DC for some reason - that forum has really few posts, and most of them are about Baltimore
