The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Well folks, this is the last official weekend of summer and like you my thoughts turn to one thing - Christmas Music.

Which Atlanta radio station will play the first Christmas tune? What day will it be? Will there be a surprise Christmas station? Will any station flip after going all-Christmas?

I'm gonna say The Fish will start on Nov 1, followed by B98.5 and The Bull. The Bull will flip to AC after Christmas with Cledus out on his plugs by Jan 1.

Keep in mind that with the PPM, the reports are going to be monthly, and there will be a holiday (13th) report. It won't be like in the past when Christmas music could propel a station to a great fall book and have an effect on the first 2 trends of the new year.

I'm not sure as many stations will be doing Christmas music going forward although the 3 mentioned probably will.

The PPM world will absolutely change the way stations do Christmas music this year. Not near as much pressure for the mainstream stations to try and keep up with those that go balls to the wall.

Actually J93 beat everyone to the punch with a week's worth sometime in the summer... July I think.

Boy was that wonderful.

:p
