The Name Game

In Philly we currently have Ben on a Variety hits station (Philadelphia history, Ben Franklin).

Previously we had a Max (Hot AC) and an Alice (Rockin' Hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s which evolved to Hot AC).

Before Bobs and Jacks came along, Alice was the defacto station name, mostly for Hot and Modern ACs.

Kelly 95.3 (KLLY) Bakersfield CA Hot "Alternative" AC
MAX-FM 96.5 KVMX Bakersfield, Classic"Rock" Hits, Not A JACK, they have local DJ's.

"Bee" 107 in Elyria Ohio way back when. Like Aunt Bee? ??? I know, reaching.

How about stations named after animals?
The Fox and The Eagle are mostly used for Classic Rock.
The Wolf is used for Country.

Three of adult hits stations with other names that I know of...KYCH Portland, OR "Charlie", one station (I think it was WWTJ) in Charlottesville, VA called itself "Tom" (before flipping to talk), and WWLB in Richmond, VA calls itself "Liberty," though that isn't a person's name.

The Fish.
One that was probably out before any of these:
Radio Caroline
