The New 101.1 WYDE

Jay,

WFMH went off the air in H'burg around October, and I heard their Calls are up for grabs from the FCC's website.

I pulled up the FCC website, and the WFMH calls are still being used on their AM. The FM still is still listed as WFMH-FM.
Are they going to drop the WFMH calls?

WFMH AM 1340 is a News Talk station in Cullman. They are still on air. Even after I lost my favorite local FM Station (Real Country 95.5) I was still able to hear them from their Hackleburg site from my home in NW Cullman Co. when WSM FM or WHMA wasn't blasting away the dial. Back in Oct. I quit hearing their signal and their homepage has been taken down. I think only the FM is off air...

A reply to WGBR's question about WXXR, the original studios were on Hwy 31 north here in Cullman. The building is still there, but sits empty. XXR did move to the Baker building shortly after 95.5 came on in 95 or 96. They stayed there until the Eddins family bought it in 99 or 2000 (?) then they moved both XXR am and fm to the WFMH site on Warnke Rd. Now I'll confuse you even more. Williamson broadcasting bought it at some point, moved the FM to Hackelburg, kept XXR am here which is now WFMH 1340 and they also own WMCJ 1460, which is in the same building with 1340. I never picked up WFMH Hackelburg here in Cullman, all I ever could get was WHMA, WSM, and once in a while a hip hop stration from atlanta.

yes....i believe it was feb 06 when the studios moved to the baker building downtown. It was when the FM went on the air for the fire time. I wonder why the FM in hackleburg is on low power?
