The "New Big Mouth" 880 AM

Wherever Morgan Babb is right now, he is not happy with what's been done to 880 since he sold it a few years back. I bet he never imagined a Matthew Lesko type show, Neo-Gospel*, and Keepin' it Real with Al Sharpton filling up the schedule...

What's 880? Does anyone know? :)

What's 880 now? Well, here's been the schedule for the past few days:

Sign On until 8:30 AM - Neo Gospel (Urban Gospel with a Smooth Jazz feel)

approx. 8:30 until 8:50 AM - dead air

approx. 8:50 until 9:00 AM - more Neo Gospel (explanation above)

9:00 AM until Noon - Paid Programming (Colon Blow, Get Rich Quick, "Dollar A Holler", etc...) with Neo Gospel to fill time between shows

Noon to 3 PM - Keepin' It Real with Rev. Al Sharpton (though today he had a guest host filling in)

approx. 3 PM to 3:30 PM - yet more Neo Gospel

approx. 3:30 to Sign Off - local call-in show more geared towards financial advice (the host is a lot more subdued than T.J. Graham!)

Hopefully they're looking for air talent...a lot of mic time (news, sports, etc...) at Middle Tennessee's second favorite college station (88.5 WVCP) plus a comm degree from Volunteer State should help my cause...how hard could it be? I mean it would only take 5 minutes or so for me to learn the board setup and phone system!

Change is coming to 880...I'm not sure, but the Neo Gospel has been replaced with instrumental jazz, plus they just ran like 10 promos in a row between the "colon blow" show and the "get rich quick" show for a new show called "Nothing But The Truth with Carl Boyd Jr.". It starts Monday and will air from 3 to 4 pm. From what I heard on the promos, I think this guy's show is a cross between T.J. Graham's "Open Forum" and 88.5's "Inside Politics"!

A station that airs a show with the name of "Colon Blow" AND Al Sharpton? Sounds logical to me in the fact that there is a lot of hot air blowing from both ends!!

I think we got off thread here...by "colon blow", I meant a bad parody of "Dr. Asa On Call"!

Go for it. Maybe you can fill the 8:30 - 8:50 AM slot, it looks (sounds) like they have a hole to fill. Also don't expect to be paid for the 5 minutes of training you'll need to get up to speed.
