The new Britney single

Songs like this make me wish I was still in Top 40 radio. Well, that's what we called it when I was on the air. I would play the heck out of this. Also, would this be considered Pop or Rhythmic or both? We played it all back then.

Interesting message in this song: If you want the good stuff you have to work. I wonder how that's going to go over. Also notice how many times the "B" word is used. This wouldn't fly back in my day. How times have changed.

Well, considering that Elton John had a hit in 1974 called "The B***h Is Back" (Hit #4 in the US, #1 in Canada, and #16 in the UK) and Meredith Brooks had a hit in 1997 called "B***h" (peaked at #2 in the US, and #6 in the UK). I'd say Britney shouldn't have a problem with radio airplay.

I just heard 98.9 Magic FM play the censored version of this song. They called it "Work." It was no. 4 on the "Big 6 @ 6" tonight.

I cannot believe the amount of the word "B--ch" is used that any station would play the original. The "work work" version is ok, but it just seems like bland techno-pop.
