The New Chocolate City ?

Did alot of New Orleans People move to Boston ( Mayor of N.O. , called New Orleans" A Chocolate city" ) ? I went to RecordandRadio.com to check out The Boston radio ratings...and R&R has The Boston Black Population at 21.6% . This Got to be a mistake . If this is correct...A Urban Station is in Great demand here in Boston . Black Pop( In Boston ) was at ,or around 6%, few ratings ago .

Because everyone knows "black people" only listen to Urban music.

Do you even think before you type this stuff?

If an Urban station were profitable in the city of Boston, there'd be one. You really don't think a company would leave tangible revenue on the table do you?

The more we continue to classify radio listeners by skin pigment, the more we perpetuate segregation.

Phil Lynott was Irish.

:)

21 % would be about right for the city of Boston. The metro area is more like 6% Black.

What makes boston interesting is that a significant proportion of the Black population is not African American, but Caribbean and Cape Verdean. Hence the plethora of Haitian and Jamaican pirates on the dial.

In Boston? You bet. As I've always said, radio rule # 1 in Boston states that non-rated radio frequencies are tolerated if they target the almighty white suburban male. Stations targeting minorities that achieve ratings and revenue make way for the duds serving the Caucasian boys.

You said that ! All I am saying is , How many Metro area that is 21.6 Black ,has NO URBAN OUTLET ? If this is true ,about Boston Being 21.6 Black .

"Radio One sold out the people of Boston . Thank 4 the B S Radio One ."

Radio One is crap. I'm happy to see them leave. Let them get rid of the AM WILD too, so we can start fresh. Radio One does not contribute to black radio in Boston, i'd be happy to see someone else do it.

I am your Number one fan ! I LOVE YOUR STATEMENT ! I AM A RADIO ONE HATER ! Radio One had the chance to be a great Boston Hero Company, and they drop the ball . If Radio One had any brains, They would had Tom Joyner Morning Show and a Urban A/C Jack format ,during the rest of the day on 1090..until they sell it .

I want Radio One to sell. I know there are those in the community who think that's a blasphemous (spelling?) statement. I say the sooner the better. Once Radio One gets rid of WILD, the market can readjust. Boston can support an Urban AC, probably on AM though. Perferably a full time AM.
