The new guy at FNX

Anyone care to speculate on what, if any, changes will be going on at FNX with the arrival of Mike Tierney - the newly designated VP of Broadcast Operations? He's programmed at VH1, KRock/NY, worked in Artist Management and at a label. Seems like there's been a little tweaking lately - maybe currents running a little less frequently? Their GM Gary Kurtz recently left the building and hasn't been replaced - anyone else?

A lot of the music tweaks occurred before Mike Tierney was officially hired by FNX, but he may have had some part in those tweaks before the official announcement. I have noticed in the past week or two that they seem to be a little, I stress little, more diverse in their recurrent/gold selection, but they are only still playing two or three currents per hour, and perhaps only up to four currents at night. They did have a slight uptick in the recent PPMs, but that may also be due to losing WBCN. WFNX has also been doing a lot of block party-type weekends lately. I'm not a big fan of block party weekends for the sole reason that I like to hear different artists when I'm listening to station for a period of time. I guess once in a while is okay, but FNX has been doing this nearly every weekend. I'm not a fan...
