The new guy on WBT?

My 2 cents...
He's awful. Brings in the producers way too much who add nothing.
Also, the sexual innuendo is stupid and shows lack of creativity. I know it was something Larson did all the time, but it was stupid with him and stupid now.
Overall, I don't like WBT's revamp. Playing a music bed under the entire newscast is not only revolutionary but incredibly stupid.
Also, the new traffic woman was obviously brought in to fill a quota.

He seems pleasant and personable, and non-confrontational. Tries to present both sides of the issue, left or right, with no particular agenda. Which may be nice and mainstream, or otherwise a bit boring. Last pleasant and civil host on WBT was Hello Henry. He was very good. But this new host may be an attempt to counterprogram and offer an alternative to Rush.

Since Entercom took over, long time weekend and fill-in host Don Russell has recently retired. And I heard Vince Coakley back on WBT Sunday morning. A former WBT host, Vince Coakley and Tara Servatius joined Entercom station WORD in Greenville-Spartaburg, SC after departing WBT under previous owners. Now since Entercom acquired WBT, Vince Coakley is back but still the regular host on WORD in SC.

I won't criticize, It's got to be a tough job to be on the air talking for that long a period and juggling all the elements that are required. I know in the back of any host's mind is trying to keep the conversation moving and thinking about what is of interest to a mass audience. Sexual innuendo can be overdone and really has no place on the radio, same with talking to producers, if they have something interesting to add okay but otherwise open the phones and see what the listeners have to say. That's harder to do but it's part of the job. As for presenting both sides of an issue with no particular agenda, I hope we see more of that.
