That newness factor of radio stations has always mystified me. I've heard stations stay New for more than a year! Funny story up north here in Sacto, KXCL was at 103.9 and was NEW from jan of 04 to about april (IIRC)05. Then they dropped the NEW. THEN... they sold 103.9 and went to their other property (was bob 92.1) and once there, re-assumed the same moniker from 103.9 and they are now NEW again!

Crazyness!!

How long has a station been new for all of you??

Don't know if you'd count this, but 101.9 in Los Angeles has been called "La Nueva" ever since it flipped to Spanish language over a decade ago.<P ID="signature">______________

Actually, the station's been "The New" since it signed on in 1997. They haven't ever dropped that from the name, and probably never will. It's an image.
