The New Key 1050?

Tonight (3/27) I was hearing a classic hits station at 1050 going by the name of 'The New Key 1050' with a classic hits format featuring the likes of Foreigner, The Beatles, Bob Seger, John Mellencamp and Styx. This was NOT CHUM, as they were fighting with this station ultimately getting the upper hand. It's also not KEYF from Washington, as they are a standards station and I was hearing this at what would have been 5:30 PM in the Pacific Time Zone.

I heard this from Coldwater, MI. Any ideas?

Are you sure it's not, "The New Chief - AM1050"? If so, that would be WTCA, Plymouth, Indiana. 250 watts day/night. Directional with same day/night patterns. They carry a Jones Network format that is "classic hits" and would include the artists you have mentioned.

Wow! You're probably right. I played the clip to my brother and he thought it might have been 'Keith', which would be possible with the whole Jack, Bob, Doug trend that some classic hits stations do.

I'll try to dig up some information on Yahoo about Chief 1050. Perhaps a local newspaper has an article on it or something. Good call!

"Bob"???...."Doug"???....

Maybe it was CHUM and they've hired the Mackenzie brothers. ;D

(Actually, Rick Moranis...aka Doug Mackenzie...used to work at CHUM-FM, so its not that much of a stretch.)
