West Palm is market 47. While WOLL is 5th 12+, WMXJ from Miami is 14th there. OTOH, in Miami, 'MXJ is 8th 12+ and top 5 25-54, and WOLL doesn't show at all in Miami. It's a huge difference programming in a top tier market compared to #47. As stated in other posts, a lot of these songs are available elsewhere already. KFRC will need to be more compelling than they sound so far to steal away enough cume from other stations to make the kind of inroads they are wanting to with this new presentation. And the logo really does suck as much as the imaging, if not more.

kfrc

What drove WOLL briefly to #1 was the fact they got an in-market tower site. They'd been a rimshot for years with a signal barely covering the northern half of the market geographically and maybe 40% of the market's population (with a listenable-at-work signal).

KOIT is already the 800 pound gorilla in the soft rock field, and at least three stations have died trying to compete...K-Lite 93 in the 80s, KABL-FM in the early 90s, and Infinity's atrocious K-Bay simulast last year. All KFRC is now is KOIT without the soft-current hits. I know we're not supposed to "predict" - but I think KFRC will get a short lived ratings bump AT BEST - then end up with lower ratings than Oldies. But I guess they'll be happy with lower ratings as long as they're tapping into that "younger" demographic, right?

kfrc - Audio Vault

KFRC is looking for an air talent who is supposed to have "strong operating knowledge" of Audio Vault (basically a computerized cart machine).

Now who has training around for these things? I'd send them an aircheck myself if technology wasn't ahead of me.

Luckily, they have a strong signal now. I visited South Florida last year and was able to listen far North and far South from the signal. I believe is starts fading out around Miami. I'm not sure though.
