The New Knight Rider

Overall I think its okay. The visual effects are better. But I get the sense they will be borrowing from the original
series for stories. How long will it be. Before we see 'KARR' the evil version of 'KITT'? Or Michael Knights twin brother
Garth & his Peterbilt truck (Goliath) that is built with the same material as 'KITT'? If this starts to happen. It has to be the fastest a tv show has 'jumped the shark'.

I hope the ratings were good...I enjoyed the movie.

Even if they do recycle old plots, I'd still watch because there's new more modern ways of dealing with various situations now.

I'm impressed with the "color change"
Perhaps, even if old plots are recycled, modern ways of dealing with various situations will still make the show worth watching.

The new kitt has a creepy downfall though...hack into it, then open fire on the driver and there's no more Michael Knight Jr...but the writers would never let that happen... :D
(as we saw, kitt has to be active, not shut down in order to be bullet proof.)

To me, the plot had more holes than Bonnie and Clyde's last getaway car. It really seemed the writer's strike started with this movie. The acting was choppy, at best. But, we can see that much of the budget was spent on the special effects on KITT. I liked the new KITT, but really didn't like the idea of the "bad guys" being able to hack into it. That, pretty much, sucked. However, most pilots are really bad, and it's only when they get the commitment money that they can develop the show. I'd like to see that happen, especially since they hyped the Hoff being in the movie, and he was only in it for a quick scene, and a very cheesy one at that.

The ratings were decent enough to make it likely to come back. (I think it would be funny if Ford pulled out and the only sponsor willing to step up was Kia...KITT the Kia Spectra. Yeah, now that would be a new twist on things!)

All I can picture in my head thinking about Knight Rider is the Simpsons spoof, Knight Boat.

They already tried to resurrect Knight Rider back in early '90s with that awful Knight Rider 2000 movie. So I watch this new one out of curiosity and yet again I was disappointed. The new KITT doesn't compare to the old '80s KITT and the whole movie felt like a damn Ford commercial to me. I think I will block out both movies and only remember the tv show as it once was.

I'm supportive of the new Kitt.
I think it has potential.
I do support plot where the "bad guys" can hack in.
In doing so, this adds to the suspense.
However, sooner or later Kitt would have to be better protected though.
Too many Kitt hacking plots can wear out very fast and quick and suggest that it's not a car that's all that great.

It also takes too much away from other ideas.
I hope the writers remember that the "hacker" is not the star of the show...Kitt is.
