Northern California The New KXBX 1270 Thread

Since my old thread from last year got closed due to inactivity, I'm opening up this new one so I can revisit the topic.

I wanted to ask, because KXBX airchecks are apparently rare, if there were ever any stations anywhere that sounded similar and also carried MOYL in the same timeframe.

I'm more interested in obscure stations than I am the big ones (the big ones are well documented, and numerous airchecks of them, both scoped and unscoped, are widely available), and KXBX seems to be about as obscure as they get.

The MOYL affiliates that I can recall that were post-1996, which is when Al Hamm relaunched the network, are:

KMYL AM 1190/FM 105.3 Phoenix
KIXI 880 Seattle
KBFL AM 1060/FM 99.3 Springfield, MO
KKOV 1550 Portland, OR
WIOI 1010 Portsmouth, OH ( Still an affiliate)

If any others come to mind, I'll reply back. I hope that helps in your search, even though 3 of the 5 are not obscure.

KQTE (1460 Santa Rosa) ran the original MOYL when I was there in the 80s. John Detz' Visionary Radio owned KQTE and KXBX.
