I think in order to be the "new" mid-day person, you have to have had an "old" mid-day person. Was the hard drive fired or something? Is it still supposed to be a secret that nothing on KDMX is live and local in any daypart, and hasn't been since Victoria Snee and the morning team was axed, what, more than two years ago? And you need a music director because...why? Wasn't this handled regionally already after Pat McMahon was let go? Is a change on the horizon?
I've listened to 102.9 off and on since 1978. The last three years (especially) have been unlistenable. Seacrest is bad enough, but I can't figure out the intended demo...perhaps some mid-20s female who just outgrew Kiss-FM? I haven't looked at Mix's numbers in a long time, but the corporate "Mix" format that CC/NCI/Jacor developed over TWENTY years ago needs a serious shot in the arm...and I think you have to start first with bringing LIVE bodies back into the building. I thought Zazza and company had a decent following, but I guess they expected more than $15 an hour for their efforts and were all let go. (I'd hate to think what the benchmark is now...$10? $8?) Is there still a "Mix" in Houston (KHMX)?
Jay, good luck to you...this is nothing personal...but would like to see something happen at Mix that'll make it more than a jukebox and a repeater.
BTW, is this the same person as "Jammin'" Jay Michaels, first jock hired at 100.3 JAMZ in 1988?
