THE NEW MIX 92.3

I heard the flip at noon today. They went dead air at 12:02, came back about 30 seconds later with a new sweeper to kick off the station and a jingle right behind it.

It's mostly the same songs as Diva had, but they're not sped up to "Diva Speed." And not much dance anymore.... Plus they're playing some rock again. (Notice I put SOME). lol Guess they still have the CD's left from Rock 92.3. The ghost won't die! :p ;D

Well for those who are interested,
Last song played as Diva: Band Aid - Do they Know It's Christmas?
First song played as Mix: Finger Eleven - Paralyzer

Bzz...Z...Z...z…..Z...,

You better watch out….you better not cry.... :-*

.. and happy hollahdays, Jeremy!!

Cheers!

~ DJ Jenna J, JD

(whoa, I just realized that my intials are now a palindrome!)

Hey, how's it going Jenna? I hope you guys are still over there and have a job...! Heard Duncan James is back in town on B, part-time tho. I gave him a call yesterday and chatted with him. He's doing alright.

Anywho, I've been running errunds all afternoon and I will say I'm enjoying what I hear so far! Pretty cool mix of music! Did you have input?

Gotta run. Hope all is well!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, and everyone on Radio-Info!!!

Jeremy

Just studying for the bar, m'boy... blah. Congrats on your UNO-doings, kiddo! I knew you'd get out ..somehow...don't forget about us little people ..behind the mics. ;)

..and.. Mrs. Dash is-a-lurkin', huh? I wonder if something beyond part-time at the B is brewing...that's a whole-lotta talent for such a lil' slot.

~Jenner

well this aint your standard top 40 station! they played the clash!! ;D I like it...so far....will depend how deep the playlist is as to how long I like it..

...or hear more than sssssssshhhhhhhh wanna be paralyzed by you sssssssshhhhhhhhhhh right next to the 2,000 foot stick ;D

...For the people who don't get the joke.... WDVW is on a small tower in downtown New Orleans and is coming in with a lot of noise and that's the chorus line for the first song they played

Merry Christmas all!!!!!

Another MIX?? Wait they aint owned by Clear Channel are they?? Hmmph, maybe they should have JACKed it instead.........

Jack'n 92.5 may not have been the best option. What rank does NOLA carry in the Arbs? As I recall a deal was cut where any market ranked 50 and higher by Arbitron would be able to program its own Jack, anything else would get the canned feed from the ABC satillite network.

Seeing the lackluster response thus far to the WTMI feed, do think Citedal would be willing to lower the bar for another piped in feed. After all this is New Orleans, not a samll market by any means. Would you want to program your own JACK tailored to the market or pipe in the network? You be the judge. I tend to think customizing the format would work best.

It's good to see someone once agian approach a Hot AC format in the Big Easy, and at least you get to listen to a real person tell you what song you just heard ;)
Time will tell if Mix holds, hopefully whoever is running the show will remember that to live up the defenition of MIX, by playing more than just the year end top 20 for years covered and current top 10 singles or so. Will see if the get that message ::)

I find the Jacks are slowly being done away with personally.. But no this property is owned by Citadel ...Pretty much a shakeup of under performing properties. Martini was standards flipped a/c and now is sat fed oldies, Diva went now to a Hot A/C (something missing since pre-Katrina in market) and rumors of KKND being re imaged as the Wolf (still as country music)

However apparently all the stations that flipped within the past few years under McQueen have apparently flipped to newer formats or have undergone some serious image changes.

Maybe to boost the value of the cluster as Citadel reportedly is in the market to sell some clusters.

True, forgot about the 50 and up clause....but then I have listened to the ABC Jack feed (Tyler TX 99.3 FM is one) and the music mix is pretty damn good....sometimes better than the Houston or Dallas Jack!!

Hopefully They will get the transmitter fixed so the rest of us can hear it.
i think the transmitter is fixed. im getting a really clear and clean signal in lucher. much better than it was when the were beaming out of the n.o. metro with a backup antenna.
but as far as this new mix goes.............it is the same 14 songs over and over but they say this is what new orleans wants. yes and no. we do want a good mix of music but we also want variety. what is it these people cant understand about variety?? guess alot of songs didnt test well................ ::)

i think everyone at the former diva was canned. maybe mcqueenie got the axe too.........
didnt know duncan was back.......but i dont listen to b97 for reasons previously posted. not gettin into that again ;D

Just checked and they ain't on the Vacherie tower as it should be nailing my signal meter on my portable right beside me and right now I get 92.7 (EMF) out of Clinton better than New Orleans

On one of the other message boards, a poster posted a hour capture of Mix 92.3 in mp3 format and it's apparently some of the same music that Diva was running toward the end with more pop rock... Kind of a 105.3 the zone on automation right now.... but lot better and more listenable than Diva ... now Alpha Males can claim they listen to 92.3 again ;D

Did anybody check or thought to ask if they had a possible target date to go back to full power? Also has anyone heard a thing about KAGY? ???
