The New NBC News Radio

With CNN Radio ending and NBC Radio making a comeback on April 1st, I wonder if it'll have any effect on KFXR 1190 AM, being that it is a simulcast of CNN's HLN.

KFXR does carry CNN News at the top of the hours that they're playing Classic Country. Not sure about the hours that are pre-paid blabber shows. Wonder if the newscasts will switch to NBC. In the mid 80's, when it was still KLIF 1190, they carried talk shows from NBC Talknet during the overnight hours.

-and I ran them! THE board op on duty the night of the Bernard Meltzer meltdown. Anybody remember that?

"tune in, turn on, Talknet...we care" (pardon me while I puke)

I remember hearing Bruce Williams followed by Sally Jesse Raphael. Toward the end of her show I was starting my shift as the overnight crew at KTNS. Part of that was being Board Op during ABC Talkradio's Ira Fistell & Ray Briem shows that we carried.

Talknet.. I enjoyed Bruce Williams. Last I heard he was still doing his show somewhere. I think you can hear it on xm
Bruce ended his show on XM a couple of years ago. XM reduced his air time from 3 hours to one and after about a year, XM took him off the air.

As one of the anchors getting the boot at CNNRadio, it's nice to be moving back to Dallas after 17 years. If anyone needs a radio film critic/celebrity interviewer, I'm the guy. My employment at CNN ends in April. Looking for a freelance/part time gig. Probably NOT full time. But, never say never. [email protected]

There was a sweet spot in the 90s where stations could air Bruce Williams to midnight and Art Bell to 4 a.m. (maybe 5 if they replayed the first hour).
