The new news team on FOX Omaha?

It is my understanding that KPTM will outsource themselves to the Independent News Network studios in Davenport starting tomorrow (Labor Day). Ironically, KLJB (located closeby to INN), which had been affiliated with INN since the last day before Y2K, will have their final INN telecast tonight. This leaves the following news team with one less job:

- Nathan O'Leary and Phil Doherty (anchors)
- Pat Walker and Kyle Dennis (meteorologists)
- Roland Glembine (sports)
- Kurt Liske, Bill Sindewald, and Jenny Wirtzberger (reporters)

But then again, these people could be on the new KPTM newscast!

KRBK 49 in Springfield, MO uses INN, and a friend of mine refers to them as the "Idiot News Network." While they seem to do okay on WLTZ in Columbus, GA, they have a local reporter or two on staff and run local stories. KRBK isn't so well equipped.

So, whether or not this is a good idea will depend on how much effort KPTM will put into it. Also, expect some obvious clues that the INN staff isn't local. On KRBK, they consistently mispronounce "Rolla" and "Lebanon."

Apparently, I was right about some of the former KLJB staff (the INN crew) working on the Omaha newscast. Among the anchors is Mike Mickle, who used to work on QC TV--not on KLJB, but on KWQC-TV. Here's the part that confuses me about him: I thought all INN telecasts took place on Tremont Avenue in Davenport, but when I visited his bio page on kptm.com, parts of it gave the idea that Mike moved his family to the Omaha area....
