The New Party 105.3

I made a Myspace page for Classc Rock 105. Do I get some sort of award?

Ok but this page was the official myspace page of Party 933 back when it moved from 104.9 to 93.3. It said the New Party 93.3 fm.

http://www.myspace.com/party933 I went to the old Party933 myspace page and it shows that they are now on 105.3,,,, any one knows anything about this?

That's a myspace page... in other words, one created by a user. Were it a real radio station, they would have a dot com page.

To start with, that frequency has been relicensed to the Winnie area by the FCC, and will not cover Galveston at all.

yes its back. on the 105.3 signal but can only be heard if you're wayyyyyy south.

like galveston and a little in la porte> Univision has to have something up there sleeves. Why bring back hip hop and R&b if you really dont plan to make any $$$$$$?

I foresee a simulcast soon

That's absolutely correct. The upgrade moves the tower further away from Galveston, putting it well outside of their coverage! As seen here www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=FM1209679.html the upgraded KPTY "service area" covers the majority of the population in the Golden Triangle, with city-grade strength into Beaumont and Port Arthur.

Im not playing, that is the official page of the old Party 93.3 FM

IM JUST LEARNING BE PACIENT. Well, by now you should have learned to trust official sources instead of MySpace pages, as David suggested. And the word is "patient," as in you often try our patience.

so what is possibl gonna happen. are they looking to make $, compete, or just for ever play music to the people that have boats and actually go out in the gulf. I mean why bring it back in the 1st place if you really are planning on never being heard

my prediction is simulcast before the year is out.

Did you look at the link that JD posted above? That map shows that it covers Beaumont and Pt Arthur very well. It's not just fish, turtles, alligators and pelicans that the signal is covering.

It won't be built where the map shows, as the landowner won't allow it.

I'll take your word on that, stan. But allow me to speculate just a bit: maybe they'd want to go with an alternate site using an existing tower in the short term.

One possibility might be the one just off Highway 73 about ten miles east of Winnie; it's roughly two miles north of the proposed location. Granted, if what I gather from the ASR files is correct they'd lose a considerable amount of height (492 feet down to about 340 or so, depending on antenna placement) but it would still give them a pretty good signal into Beaumont/Port Arthur. Of course, that's providing that they could get FCC approval to modify their CP and the tower isn't maxed out. From what I can tell that doesn't appear to be the case.

Then again, I'd be willing to bet that Mr. Eduardo has the real facts on what's going to happen.

Speaking of 105.3.....I been hearing a loop of "something urban" from there for about the last 2 1/2 weeks here in the Alvin/Pearland area. This comes in like a local at times. No ID's, that I have heard, sloppy transitions from song to song. Songs go from hip hop to urban AC, got to hear songs from T.I, Nelly, and even Prince.. Is this a pirate, testing, or a stunt for somebody's 105.3?

I would say that might be Party on 105.3, but since you said you heard Urban AC and Prince, it might be a pirate or something else because i dont remember Party playing Urban AC's. And i know they never touched Prince before.

That would be the new 105.3 your hearing.

Yeah before logging on, i heard "They don't know" by Jon B. another urban AC song followed it, i don't know who it was though. Incidentally I did hear the end guitar riff of "Freebird" bleeding through.......wonder why I have not heard an ID yet.....This would be ideal for 101 or 106.9. Also glad everybody was wrong about 103.7, glad they are here and appearing to stay.

Yeah I've been hearing Urban AC on 105.3 in the Clear Lake vicinity, but have hear no hip hop. Waited for any IDs but nothing. I agree with you, Hifi, I am glad 103.7 is here to stay.

So far im still hearing country on 105.3 where i stay at (290 and Hollister).

And on 103.7, id rather have what's still on there now than another 50th spanish station. :)
