THe new PPM personalized people meter, does it work?

What i wonder is what is everybody's thoughts on the new PPM that has taken the place of the mail diaries from what I understand about it. If I ever got one, I'd put it on a dog with the radio on all day!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

What do theys say in the ratings now? Are there still ratings books or anything like that that anybody know about???? :) ;) :D ;D  :( 8) ??? ::) :p :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'(

I think the PPM is working well. It seems to be showing what I believed to be true all along. It's a little sad for the Talk stations, however. They're not going to fare well during the day because they're not played in offices. BUT, the Talk stations will always work better for advertisers, so they can make it up in revenue, maybe.

Question: Does anyone have any figures on just HOW MANY listen to radio period....compared to MP3s, the Internet, etc? Everytime I hear a radio on in a car....it's either "country" or some "hippity-hoppity" station. No one I know at the office listens to a radio; it's all personalized devices. Likewise at the Gym. What gives....HUH?

Does anyone have any figures on just HOW MANY listen to radio period.

About 95% of Americans 6 and older hear the radio every week. Some more than others. This includes people
who hear a radio at work or in a store, even if they didn't choose to listen. That number has been the same for about 30 years.

The length of time they listen per week has fallen in the last 20 years. Most people still use the radio - some.

I think the PPM is an improvement over the diary.

That's a very small sample size. Go hang out in a Wal-Mart parking lot all day and see how many radios are on when people pull in and pull out of the lot. It's fashionable for some people to say "I don't listen to the radio", but in reality they probably listen the the Showgram or Q Crew every morning.

Successful radio stations have relied on RESULTS over RATINGS for years. Problem is that sales people are trained to sell RESULTS these days.

Yeah, results are important for stations that aren't in the top tier, but the MOST successful stations
have the best ratings and get results. too.

From all what I know about radio, which is obvisouly a LOTS!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Its clear that the only results that matter is ratings!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D DUUUHHHH!    :D ;) :) I tell you I thing sometime Xtalk is just trying to be funny or to get a rise out of us out up on here!!!!!! Not to call no one out either!!! :) ;) :D ;D  :( 8) ??? ::) :p :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'(

Its simple. You get ratings and you get the results you need from the ratings that causes the result!!!
