Anyone thought of the new lineup at DJX? Peter B is retiring (probably taking a break and will go get more money later) Chuck B is gone now- whos left? Mike Shannon who is how old? 50? At a Top 40 station? Yeah, hes gone soon. Shane Collins? Hes another one thats been around since before the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Sounds like the new owners with the first round are getting half the old guys out and probalby next year the entire staff will be turned over. Maybe Ben will stay and Kelly K will stay because shes H-O-T, but only for a couple more years until she gets a few wrinkles. So lets look at a whole new DJX lineup: Ben and Kelly K in the morning
An out of town talent tracking the mid-days eventually
Maybe Matt Ryan eventually returning to DJX for afternoon drive after he gets let go next from kiss and CC
Finally Sarah Jayne doing nights . Thoughts anyone ??? Bueller Bueller..Bueller Bueller .

Not gonna happen!!! Mike Shannon great in the afternoon and kelly k is 32 or so yeah lots o wrinkles at that age. Middays will stay local but the only point i would agree with you on is if ben does get the morning gig from pete, Now sarahj very perky cute chick good at what she does but ever since mike shannon took over the 7pm-12 shift both mike and now ben both are very high energy. That shift was occupied by i think gary clark pryor to that and he was not like mike or ben so the direction of that 7- midnight shift has been someone very high energy sarah does not have the ben or mike type style i think they will continue in the same vein they have been at that shift. And hi flyin matt ryan no way!!!

Actually dude Shane Collins hasn't been there "since before the dinosaurs roamed the earth".. I think he's only been PD for 3 or 4 years... anyone remember Jill Laurens, Karen Rite, Barry Fox.. other PD's of the station.. Shane's not going anywhere, unless the station totally bombs... plus, his middays are vt'ed, I'm sure...

I thought even you board (bored) ops got to read R&R

From this morning:
After an extensive, expensive, exhaustive national search, Mainline CHR/Top 40 WDJX/Louisville circled around and located its new morning personality — doing nights on ‘DJX. That’s right, kids, Ben Davis will move into the harsh light of day to replace 20-year station
vet Peter B, who announced his retirement in December.[EDIT]

GEEZ - thought you guys "knew everything going on"

Ben deserved this.

I hate to say this..

I TOLD YOU SO

The day Peter B. announced his retirement, I said...they will move Ben to mornings and all I heard was...ahh, you know nothing about Louisville, blah..blah..blah! Oh, my...look who was right!

I wouldnt be surprised to see Sarah Jaye remain at nights after all the dust settles.

Personally I think Karen Rite should come back to program DJX. She could really move that station up the charts quite a bit further. I think she is one of the best programmers in the country.

I have to say...Radioville and I actually agree for once. BEN is a great jock and totally deserves this promotion.

Now it's time to disagree again. Sarah Jaye has NO chance to get the full-time night gig. DJX will definitly go with a man.

Excellent choice for morninngs mr ben davis!!!Great chemistry together kell and ben. I wonder if sarahj will get the night gig full time???

I personally hope she doesnt get it either. However, she is a fit for the station. She will get it only because she can do it for half the price of bringing in major night talent.

You're right about half the price. Kelly K has been the only female voice on that station for years. How many female talents are doing nights on CHR's???

When i was in la in the summer of 2006 star 98.7 had just gotten this jock named tom mitchell from the mix station in las vegas well i thought he was really good and no longer works for star seems clear channel keeps changing that station and evolving. I seriously doubt someone that lived in la and vegas would want to live in louisville but ya never know and i think he would be a good fit for wdjx.

I agree...you dont see too many CHR's with Females at night anymore. It was a huge thing in the 80's... Personally I like to see a female in either afternoon drive or nights...it sets your station apart and gives it a personality image compared to a music image!

Of course you are assuming that the female jock is allowed to have a personality compared to a 5x9 index card reader like 99% of the jocks today are.

Anyone remember Ann Avery from DJX many years ago? I always liked her. I think she did the 10am to 2pm shift, and I think she did overnights for awhile. This was around 1994-1995 era,,, maybe a bit before and after as well.

Females don't belong in afternoon drive or nights on a CHR format.
