How long does a station have to keep saying "the new"? example: the new kool 993 it really is amazing how long how some stations hang on to the new..especially when they can be jacked at any time

I believe the New Y95 was "new" up until a week before they became "the new Mix94.9" which remained "new" up until 94.9 changed their name back to KBEST 95.
 
Remember that any station which bills itself as "The New..." is doing so in a feeble attempt to convince listeners that they've changed something for the better, even though they have the same format, same air talent and same lousy promotions that earned them the #17 slot in a 20-station market.

The amazing this is that half the time, people buy it!
