The next station to change formats

I hope 98.7 AMP RADIO is not the next DETROIT radio station to change formats. I don't want a WWJ NEWSRADIO 950 FM Simulcast on 98.7 FM here in DETROIT.

I hope 98.7 flips formats. Hate that station, and right now they are rock bottom in ratings out of any Detroit station. I wonder how the recent morning show change will effect the ratings though. If Buck & Coop don't raise the ratings by the end of summer, bye bye Amp radio!

I'm a 955 fan here, all the way.

rjs, I like listening to 95.5 too, and have hated AMP since they have come on for sentimental reasons(put 2+2 together, folks). but, the whole purpose of AMP is the idea that 95.5 could use a run for their money, and, to be honest, they have done that at times. AMP isn't really going anywhere unless their ratings really bottom out, and CBS Radio really wants to put 950 am or dare I say 1270 am on fm-which I don't see on the horizon. although their ratings have gone up the last few months, the next station that could flip formats, and if they did, I would love to see what will they do? is 93.1. WJR-FM, a second country station. who knows?

Now 95.5 only sound's good because they have competition from 96.3 WDVD and 98.7 amp radio. 5 year's ago 95.5 sounded like shit. All hip hop all day long we FM 98 wjlb for that. 3 year's ago 98.7 come on the air 95.5 started to get there shit together! 96.3 WDVD is kicking 95.5 ass right now in the rating's!

3 year's ago I say'ed thank god for 98.7Amp radio because 95.5 suck's so bad. But I guess channel 955 has not been sounding to bad latey as of 2012 before 955 suck'ed.

98.7 amp radio doe's really need to do something with there station! A better morning show would help! Mojo in the morning no more like Andrew Z in the morning a better morning show. Not jersey shore story's every 10 minute's! ::)

Steve, you make a good point about 96.3. to me, the reason 96.3 does so good right now is they play the hits that 95.5 and 98.7 play, but they can get other hit music that quite frankly, 95.5 or 98.7 can't play(I can get you examples), and one thing that 96.3 does that 95.5 has now started to do is they reach back into the early 2000's and parts of the 90's, and they play hits from that time span too. as 95.5's ratings dip late in 2010 and early 2011 showed, their main focus is 98.7. 96.3 caters to an audience that 95.5 and especially 98.7 can't.

You'r right Matt 96.3 is doing good because of them playing so much chr hit's. I will say that 95.5 sound's good these days of course i'm still bitter about the good old DRQ day's because of 95.5. 98.7 is a decent station but 98.7 need's to do more with there station! Im glad 95.5 is trying to get there crap together!
