The Nine Weekend Premiere Network Shows from iHeart

There are nine weekend shows offered by Premiere Networks:

--"The Tech Guy" with Leo Laporte (based at KFI Los Angeles)
--"Handel on The Law" with Bill Handel (KFI)
--"The Jesus Christ Show" with Neil Saavedra (KFI)
--"At Home with Gary Sullivan" (WKRC Cincinnati)
--"In The Garden" with Ron Wilson (WKRC)
--"The Weekend" with Michael Brown (KHOW Denver)
--"Sunday Nights with Bill Cunningham" (WLW Cincinnati)
--"Somewhere in Time" with Art Bell (tapes of his days hosting Coast to Coast AM)
--"Coast to Coast AM" (weekend hosts do the show from several locations)

In 2023, The Tech Guy will be replaced by "Rich on Tech" with Rich DeMuro, also based at KFI. And this past year, Michael Brown, former FEMA director under George W. Bush, took over "The Weekend." It was previously hosted by Joe Pags of WOAI San Antonio.

Some of these shows run on nearly all iHeart Talk stations, such as the weekend edition of Coast to Coast AM and Sunday Nights with Bill Cunningham. The Tech Guy, The Weekend and Handel on The Law are popular, getting picked up by many iHeart Talk outlets and even a few with other owners.

But I notice Somewhere in Time, which airs 9pm to 1am on Saturday nights, only gets heard in markets below #50 or so. Larger markets would rather air a repeat of Sean Hannity or Glenn Beck in that time slot. I guess it is unusual to carry a show whose host died in 2018! The recordings of Art Bell are from the 1990s and early 2000s. And The Jesus Christ Show has only a few affiliates, all in small markets, other than its originating station, KFI. I suppose we could say its host died in 30 A.D. Neil Saavedra does the show as if he were Jesus, as part of the format.

Interesting to note that WOR in New York runs almost none of these shows. It is wall to wall infomercials on weekends. It doesn't even carry Coast to Coast on Saturday nights. It does run the Sunday night version.

Thanks for the summary. I'm aware of these shows but didn't make the connection that they're all from Premier.

Michael Brown is a big upgrade for "The Weekend," IMO. Hopefully Rich DeMuro will be a good listen. I'm not crazy about Bill Cunningham but appreciate having a live show to listen to on Sunday nights. He has a lot of affiliates, perhaps that's why.
