Spent some time in Australia recently listening to Nova 106.9 Brisbane. They stream online at http://www.nova1069.com.au

I enjoyed the station a lot. They play the hits, but have a variety, and play album versions and mixes as well, and never more than two ads in a row. I'm seriously suprised no station in the states has tried this. Is there any thinking as to why it hasn't migrated overseas? As a music and radio fan, I think it sounds excellent. They even throw in some past hits that are suprises in the mix.

I can't imagine any station in the US, having breaks with no more than 2 ads at a time.

Nova 106.9 Brisbane is one of my favorite CHRs in the world. I've mentioned it here as well as on the Australia board several times. I believe that aside from me Midwestclubber and Robert Moore have also talked about the Nova stations.
Here's the links to all 5 Nova stations along with their streams. If you need the link to any other station just let me know ;)

Some of the Clear Channel stations have come pretty close to that policy in the past year.

Capital Radio London adopted the 2 ad policy in December 2005 as they battle to regain the No.1 position from Heart 106.2. The GCap Media chief was reportedly impressed with the Nova stations performance, which let to Capital adopting the ad policy.
______________

I visited friends in Perth about a year ago and I was completely glued to Nova 93.7. Amazing station.

Not only is the music good, but the imaging is often funny.
______________
