The numbers are in...ARB Su'05

Just a few random thoughts on the Summer book:

KFYI retains #1 spot in news/talk arena. Can Bonneville do with KT'R what they've done with KSL?

KOOL drops a bit, but still doing extremely well. Should be interesting to see if the format (60s and 70s) keeps it on top.

Power 92 and KISS FM are neck-in-neck, with KISS making gains from the last book. Can they overtake Power 92, or do they flip formats?

KNIX kicks the $h!t out of KMLE. Is it the shorter commercial breaks and 40 minutes in a row?

Mr. Peakerman and company edge out KEZ. Nice job, Mr. Peakerman.

KXXT (Air America) improves on Spring numbers, but they still need to sell a few more bumber stickers and tote bags to keep their head above water. Can they pull the ratings and save Air America in Phoenix?

KUPD is looking and sounding great. Good job, Holmberg and company!

That race is going to be an interesting one. I noticed KZZP getting a little bit more Rhythmic and less Mainstream, so this could nip those "La Precoisa" plans in the bud.

As for KKFR I don't see them being dethroned yet but chances are that Mr.St.James may want to look at what has happened at his sister station(And former employer) in Los Angeles so it won't happen come the Fall book.

Then there's KVIB, who seems to be moving in on some of Power's Hispanic listening base. It'll be interesting to see if Club 95.1 starts making inroads in the next book.

And last but not least is KNRJ, which picked up a few numbers.

From the little I've seen, it looks like Kiss had a very solid book. Nipping at Power's heals 12+ and beating them solidly 25-54. Granted, 25-54 is not eithers target, but could mean Power's numbers are all teen and young demo's. It seems that Kiss could be the winner in the important demo race versus the insignificant 12+ race. But I have no hard facts, other than what I have stated here, to back that up. Anyone have more?
