The Office Series Finale

The only thing I didn't like was how things ended with Toby. I wanted him to have a nice, happy send off.

The inclusion of Dwight's "bestich mench" was perfect. Couldn't have been more perfect and graceful.

I'm sure there will people outraged by Ryan and Kelly's decision--forgetting that the show is often-outrageous fiction.

Kevin seemed happy; he sucked as an accountant. And Ryan's baby will be much better off.

Of course, we all know this is fiction, right? The fact that we kind of care about this demonstrates the show hit a chord, and that's pretty rare.

I think the finale hit all the right notes it needed to hit.

Looking back at that part, there's no need to focus on the wedding without it.

I just watched it online, and though it was ok. I think there were better one hour climactic episodes over the years. Now will Modern Family and Parks & Rec that do the similar mockumentary type format have the same type of wrap-up, acknowledging it was filmed the whole time when those end?

I was surprised to see Joan Cusack guest star. She's a movie star, rather than a TV actress. I agree with the Toby comment. It's like they overcharacterized him esp during the later years of the show. From an annoying HR person, they made him a very unlikeable loser for life, while Angela became more ordinary and less mean, uptight and xenophobic over the years.

Seeing Kelly on The Office again kind of makes me think The Mindy Project is practically a spinoff of The Office except she has a better job as a doctor and her name is Mindy there instead of Kelly. But, she acts the same way and personality between characters (e.g. thinking the name "Drake" is cool) is pretty much the same.

The Office was set in Scranton, PA, right? How much play did WBRE-28 and the Wyoming Valley papers give the finale?

The whole city honored the visiting cast members two weeks ago, so the TV station and newspapers may have focused more on that.
