"The Ohio Story" is a famous 15 minute radio program that made the transition to television in, I think, 1952. How long did it last on radio and TV?
One of the best episodes is a radio dramatization of the life of Olympic Gold Medalist Harrison Dillard which was apparently aired while he was at the Olympics in 1948. I dubbed to CD a good number of "The Ohio Story" radio programs produced between 1947 and 1949. The ones from 1948 and 1949 are mostly in real good shape. Tom Fields, later WEWS TV5 news anchor, is the announcer.
I ran across another series... "Let's Explore Ohio" sponsored by the Standard Oil Company. It says on the original 16" Electrical Transcription discs... Produced for the McCann-Erickson Company. There are 32 programs of which 30 of them are in good enough shape to play. There are no dates on the discs, but I'm guessing the early to mid 1940s.
If you have any information, I'd like to know.
