the old KCPX 1320

Where was the old KCPX 1320 transmitter site, how many towers day & night, what was the day & night power and what was the tower configuration?

I see that 1320 is now Non-DA at 750 watts and is now called KNIT. The old KCPX ( now KFNZ at this point, in 2017 ) ) transmitter site was sold, from what I read in 2017. The new owner just purchased the license in 2017 and not the original transmitter site which was sold by Cumulus for development.

Checked the history cards, looks like it was around Murray,UT. Looks like there are houses there now, the transmitter site was moved a number of times, since going on the air in the late 1920's. The last move being to Murray, before station was taken off the air in 2017 and the license was sold separately, land was sold for development.

The Murray site was a two-tower DA-1 (same pattern day and night, 5 kW), tucked in south of 5800 W, north of 215 and west of the Jordan River.

I'm amused that the streets in the subdivision that replaced it are called "Cumulus Crest" and "Citadel Vista."

I saw the site on historical aerials ,like you said it was "tucked" between I-215 & the Jordan River. It almost looks like, if you look before that site was built ( around 1973 ) , that part of the river went right thru the site, but in pictures around the time the site was built and afterwards that "river section " is gone. This would be sligthy west of the main part of the river, between the river and I-215.

here is the link to a good site, enter area that interest you then go back in time, you can see an area "pictures" from the air or maps over time. Different parts of country have different years pictures & info available.

when I lived in the SF Bay Area, KCPX had a decent nightime signal for a regional channel, back in the 70's / 80's.
