The "Once Upon A Time" Thread

I might watch "Once Upon a Time". I have not watched a fictional network TV program on a regular basis since the final episode of "Ghost Whisperer" was broadcast for the first time.

I plan to check it out. Isn't this the show where there is an old medieval storyline that
runs parallel to a current one (using the same actors)?

Seeing that this show was delayed about a month and is on ABC (the Pan Am network),
I'm not expecting much. It will probably turn into just another soap opera like Pan Am.

Wasn't very impressed. Nice sets and scenery though. The show was a bit dark for me, after
20 minutes I left it. I think if ABC was really impressed by it, they would have aired it sooner.
All those promos were probably just hopeful thinking.

I lasted 10 minutes.

Of course I am just an old cranky curmudgeon with a bunch of money the advertisers aren't interested in.

I recently heard another take on why advertisers only seem interested in the younger demographics: they are more easily influenced by advertisers and advertisements. IOW, we old farts know how to reason and are less likely to be swayed by shiny objects and a slick sales pitch.

CBS is looking for a "new" old cranky curmudgeon for 60 minutes. Here's your big chance, Tuna! :D

It's from their writers, after all.

I liked it, except for the dark parts. I was hoping they were fairy tale characters stuck in the real world, and I do like the fairy tale characters better than the "real" ones, but this storyline with the delusional kid makes it work for me. But he's probably not delusional, and I do hope the flahsbacks to the fairy tale world continue.

Wife and I just watched the first episode (we DVR it) and we both enjoyed the program. One has to admit the plot is different.

There are so many different directions this show could take.

I think ABC might pick it up for a second season.

One question however. Is the blonde on the show the same one who co-starred on House?

I didn't like the second episode nearly as much. All of the fantasy stuff is dark now. The real world isn't as much fun as it was.

I can't even say I "love to hate" the mayor. There's a difference between "hate" and "love to hate". You "love to hate" J.R. Ewing, Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor, and Wilhelmina Slater.

Well, I watched the second episode. I was impressed and I look forward to see what twist they have in store. And judging from the numbers its been getting, I expect "Once Upon a Time" to be the centerpiece of ABC's Sunday night lineup.

They claim the 2nd episode was just as popular as the first. But, I'm sure they said the
same about LOST when it first came out.

Last week we were promised "America's Funniest Home Videos" would be back with a new episode.

Will the promise be kept this week?

Not that I'm complaining. It gave me a chance to see the Andy Rooney interview.

Let me add Sue Sylvester. I just hate her.
