The other Christmas things stations do

Besides the music, what about the promotions & do-gooding?

WCTK's Matt & Chris will be camped out at Center Court at the Warwick Mall starting at 5AM Monday & will stay there 24/7 until they collect 1000 meals (boxes of food) for the needy. Here's one instance where it pays to be live on air all night too. Drop by & donate nonperishables. Besides the good cause, remember the longer they stay the worse they'll smell.

So, does this mean that if they each donate 500 boxes, they don't have to do a show? :p

B101 is partnering with Cardi's for Toys For Tots. Amy Hagan will be there one day next month to help collect. This is actually one plus for putting Kristin Lessard on Coast since she's done some remotes for B101 and it gives the station one more body to put on the road. I'd think HJY will do something with Amos House. It's good that stations are putting actual air people out there for these kinds of things. IMO there's nothing lazier than plugging the hell out of something and when people show up all that's there is a couple of street team members. Nothing against street teams but it's a lazy way even though I know the air people don't have a lot of time.

I can just imagine a couple shoppers coming into Center Court Wednesday:

"Whoa...Center Court looks empty, you hungry?"

"Hell yeah, how 'bout a burger and.....OH MY GOD!!!"

"What? This is perfe....OH #$%@!!, WHAT'S THAT SMELL??!!"

"I dunno, but it looks like it's coming from those bums sitting in that radio station booth over there"

"Where?"

"Right there, the one with the cloud of flies circling around it"

"Does the station know about this, should we call them?"

"Dude I would, but they don't even answer when I make a request. So what's the point?"

"The point is I'm gonna pass out if I don't get out of here."

"There's a sign there....looks like they want food"

"I'd love to help, but I just can't come any closer....."
