The Party Studio @ Stratoshpere

Hello,

I was up in Vega$ this past weekend for a wedding @ the Stratosphere,(yes, I know it's a dump,) but, up on the indoor observation deck I came across a radio studio for one 'The Party'. Studio was dark and and not in use at the time. Is this facility regularly used by this station for broadcast? If so it is pretty neat to have a great vantage point.

Clear Channel uses it for morning and midday traffic reports.

A decade ago a syndicated overnight oldies show was broadcast from that studio.

what's wrong with getting married at the strat?

i got married on the 108th floor. it was pretty damn nice if you ask me.

Not saying there is anything wrong with getting married there, just that the place isn't really all that impressive, overall.

yea, but it's the only place in vegas with a 108+ floors...haha ;D

i can't speak for the casino, but the "big" chapel was really nice. i would have liked to have had the ceremony on the outside deck, but they said we would only be able to have like eight guests with us...we needed over 50.

we were supposed to get married around sunset but the woman was about a half hour late. DOH! ::) ;D

as far as the studio goes...i'd hate to work there on a regular basis just because of how long it would take to get up there from the parking garage...it's probably about 10-15 minutes!

Anyone remember the surly kid who filled in or helped the guy doing the oldies syndicated show
back in the 90's? Stanley Knox?

The Knox that Rocks? oh my! Last I heard he owned a car dealership in Arkansas

Also, I hear the rooms are DIRT CHEAP. So, if you wanna stay on the Strip and have somewhat of a view, on a shoestring budget....

That studio is open to shows that want to road trip to LV and broadcast back to the home market. Real easy to do and they kicked in free rooms for our show and listeners that came along.

monica's blue dress is on display at the poly ester's nite club at the strat. good honeymoon venue
