THE PARTY'S OVER?

What an unimpressive, inauspicious debut in the Fall book! They should've done much better considering Party had a built-in Hispanic contingent. Wonder is it because Party is being marketed as a suburban, White female radio station? Plus, the music is much too broad; they're not keeping anyone happy.

Party's debut pales in comparison to similarly formatted sister-station Hot 95-5 in Pueblo. Firmly based in '70s, '80s, '90s R&B and dance. They went from worst to nearly first in their debut book!

The Party launched right before the Fall book started. They had no build up. They had some demo-shuffling to do recovering from Mega's younger demo. I think the Winter book will give more of a realization in which direction the Party will start to go. That'll still be too early to tell, but we'll be able to see what direction they're headed.

Should be interesting...

I've said all along the music is to wide open....they should bring in a Disco-Dance-R&B Format smiliar to KISQ in San Francisco or Maybe Hot95.1 in Albequrque. Dump WHoopi and bring in local morning show. Party has no direction at all....they should cater to the Adult Audience..Men & Women...25-49 Hispanic and WHite and Black.

Look at KHHT in Los Angeles...Hot 92.3 jamz....they have a good base.

It's not just Denver, so far all of the Rhythmic ACs have been doing poorly. The only possible exception is MOVIN" in Seattle, but even that station looks like it peaked out a few months ago and is starting to trend down.

I do agree with those who think the music is too broad. Specifically the non-rhythmic categories, both current/recurrent and gold, hurts this format. I can understand the intention is to steal audience from mainstream Hot ACs. The problem is the non-rhythmic titles water down the format. Plus the Hot AC audience will find Rhythmic ACs far too urban for their tastes ,a token non-rhythmic song or two an hour will not win them over.

I still think Rhythmic AC has potential, but the format will eventually have to (and I predict will) dump the pop categories and replace them with deeper "oh wow" spice rhythmic titles. Superserve the core instead of trying to reach listeners who will never get into the format.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt the Movin format a A) CBS creation or B) CC? Have either of them had any success with anything new lately? Free FM HAHAHHA. What a fooking joke

Actually, the Movin' brand/format was created by Alan Burns & Associates consultancy. The format is a little different in each market as needed, which is why I say the "brand" was created by them.

Clear Channel created their own version of the Rhythmic AC brand called The Party which is in Denver, Vegas, and a couple other markets.

For the most part, these stations are less than six months old, so they still have time to show their true colors.

We'll see.

What was with all the technical glitches in the 6 o'clock hour (two songs playing over each other, misfired voicetracks, dead air, etc.)? Plus, the new night guy (who'd previously been doing weekends/fill for the past 2-3 months) *still* can't seem to get the station positioner straight. Closed circuit to the jock: it's "Wake up with Whoopi and groove all day", not "Wake up and groove with Whoopi all day." The whacked out thing is, this guy is voicetracked! There should be NO mistakes! Does the PD even listen to the station?

Geez!

Well like i say Cheap Channel was just throwing something out there. They are doing the exact same station in LAS VEGAS www.931theparty.com

Why is that they have a OLD SCHOOL R&B station in ALBUQURQUE, NEW MEXICO. Listen to KSYU -FM
www.Hot951.com so tell me why can't DENVER HAVE THIS STATION???? so you mean to tell me that ALBUQURQUE, New MExico has a better Audience than Denver?? With a Local morning show i might add!!!

I say CC might as well Turn the LIGHTS out on the PARTY.....Make it an FM SPORTS STATION!!!

Why.

And it's tied for 19th place. And it may not be cash flowing well, either, having to pay a morning show.
