It's always a shock when you hear of someone passing away at such a young age, as did WERU's "Cowboy Tommy Dean" (Tom Salisbury). He leaves us at 50 year's young.
I had the honor of meeting Tom a couple of times; one such meeting was at a George Jones concert at the Bangor Auditorium. His passion for country music, and those that create it, was unmatched. He was one of those creators, and also its greatest cheerleader and advocates for new and upcoming talent.
If you get a moment read the great article about Cowboy Tommy Dean in the Bangor Daily News.
My condolences to his family, friends, fans, and most certainly his comrades at WERU. I feel your grief.
"He was one of us."
