I agree Pat is a good guy and I too wish him well. But I'll do my best to quantify what I thought of the show, this is all IMHO. After spending too much time elaborating on how he's been in the biz for 2 decades and has always wanted and deserved his own talk show he then stated "it will not be a sports show" His 1st hour was all about the Washington Redskins name controversy. He said that it would be a show containing contemporary, lifestyle topics. To which he followed up w/ "I won't be talking about the Voice or other popular TV shows or stars" To me, those are contemporary lifestyle topics that almost everyone can relate to. Then in last nights show he covered what Ozzy Osborne did at a concert and what Eddie Murphy was up to. (I tried to listen again incase the debut show was just shaky..not so) He mispronounced some very easy and common words & then there was the "you know" crutch used between practically every other word. Although Pat is a sweetheart, he should stick to sports, he is not savvy, sophisticated, witty or articulate enough to pull off a 3 hour talk show. As I said this is just my opinion. I would be interested in hearing from some one else who has listened.
