The Paul Gonzalez show is back

Best wishes to Paul. A real pro and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

I hope Paul makes an impact. We have waaaay too many radio trolls out there. Hearing a genuinely nice holding real conversations with people hasn't been tried for quite a while, best of luck, Pablo! :)

Whew! Don't know what I'd do without news/talk stories about potheads stealing donut trucks, what people did without "the electric," or how Stanton Friedman is a personal friend of his. What a "nice" show. Go back to sleep Tampa Bay.

I must agree with sparky. Paul does seem like a genuinely nice guy, but so did "Brian Fasulo". Great talk to nap by- sort of a Steely Dan of talk radio. Find a nice tree, lie down in its shade, tune in Paul or Steely Dan, close your eyes, and drift off to sleep with 3.5 minutes.

I used to listen to Paul up north on Chuck Harder's old network.

This isn't a cut on Paul, but his voice always reminded me of Huckleberry Hounds's.

For talk radio raw meat is where it's at for the most part. I am hoping that Paul's act will be different enough to draw an audience of people not looking to have their blood pressure driven up. Hey, it could happen!

That's why there are shows like, "Advice Line with Roy Masters," "The Dennis Prager Show," "Mancow Radio Experience," and "Let my People Think."
"Red meat" is the lazy person's nourishment. However, as the thread title pertains; Paul should be better versed in the topics he chooses. This is to say, anecdotal (repetitive) stories of a Japanese Pen Pal, what he did in Atlanta, and his excursions near a nuclear plant only carries the show so far.
For the most part, his captured demographics appear to want to return to simpler times in Florida. This is to say, a less intranational migratory populace (less outsiders). Dare I regurgitate, a "normalcy bias"?
Like Markowsky did, he does allow for a conversation though. However, there does appear to be "schill" callers for both Paul's show and WWBA's morning show on the "afternoon drive."
So far, to repeat the "red meat" analogy, Paul is the protein for his selected demographic.
As for me, I prefer natural E's and F's! (4 p.m. hour on Thursday.) "Well, the phone lines are lit-up..."

Paul Gonzalez announced on Friday that it was his last show.

Today it's the "Captain's America" folks with Tea Party orthodoxy.

This may be the only programming that can work on 820. Redder than red meat we-love-Rick-Scott-and-the-Legislature rhetoric that makes 970 look like a bunch of namby-pamby liberals.

By the way, the WWBA website schedule still shows Chris Markowski.

So, they bring in a even my right wing guy who says that same old crap and kisses up to the tea baggers? How entertaining. I want my Paul back with the radio psychics and the local talk.

My favorite Michael Crose call was when the stoner called and asked for a great fertilizer for marijuana.

Recommendation: Roundup!

About drove off the road when I heard that.

...or the kid that called up asking about Christmas tree preservatives and then launched into a 30 second tirade of obscenities that Michael's bright board-op didn't dump....
