The Paula Deen Fall Out Continues

Why? They're unhappy about Food Network's decision and are using the means that network has made available to let them know how they feel.

But how is QVC involved with that ?? I don't get it..... *Stumped*

Cheers & 73 ;D

Paula Deen's relationship with QVC (the letters stood for "Quality, Value, and Convenience") was suspended shortly after someone at the Food Network decided not to renew her contract with the Food Network. You may learn more about the suspension by selecting the following link:

People are still complaining on both The Food Network Facebook Page and The QVC Facebook Page about the dropping of Paula Deen. These people serious need to grow up and get a life.

Telling people to "grow up and get a life" is not really mature or helpful. I saw nothing wrong about the idea of expressing dislike for the decision to suspend Paul Deen's relationship with QVC.

Mike George's letter was a refreshing mix of professionalism and empathy, something seldom seen in the corporate world. Whether the letter captures his true feelings or not, from a public relations perspective, it speaks well of QVC.

Considering Paula Deen is 66 years old and from South Carolina, I would have been surprised if she hadn't used the N-word sometime during her life. I think the important part the media has overlooked was in the testimony she said it was 30 years ago the last time she had used the word. I think that after all of those years, that blaming her for racism is insane, especially when you can hear it being used in today's lyrics!

And BLACK PEOPLE THEMSELVES use a derivative of it too which I'm not going to repeat here even though we've all seen/heard it being said.....

Cheers & 73 ;D

On "Are We There Yet", black people on a large number of the episodes I've seen lately are calling black males "Boy". I guess only they get to do that.

Such as when Ice Cube's character found out his parents were splitting up. "What's going to happen to us?" His sister's reply: "Boy, we're GROWN!"

Most of my Facebook friends support her.

Meh, I'm not in the media spotlight so whatever stupid crap I've said 30+ years ago isn't going to be a lightning rod for news and commentary.

Unless I happen to fall ass backwards into a dump truck full of fortune.
THEN all of a sudden those words matter.

This is demigodding and vilifying for the sake of placating the masses that have not or will not make much for themselves.
The world isn't perfect and your participation trophy you got for sucking at soccer doesn't make you a precious snowflake of entitlement.

Besides, at the end of the day Paula Deen won the defamation lawsuit levied against her.

I'm not choosing sides as I have no dog in this fight but I find it interesting that Deen's career was effectively obliterated in the court of public opinion while being exonerated of the charges against her in a court of law.
