So in spite of the fact that I think only a few people will be made examples of in the long run, does anyone think the payola thing hitting the fan in NY could extend to Boston?

In other words, will a Massachusetts politician sack a big business, and garner the limelight at the same time a la Mr. Spitzer? No, that would never happen here. A self-aggrandizing porker on Beacon Hill? Never!<P ID="signature">______________

I think that it could extend nationwide. Whenever something like this happens it effects things for a while. Then it's only a matter of time before people start slacking off and trying to get away with it again. Such is the story of Life. People only straighten out long enough until the next opportunity comes along when they don't think they'll get caught.

Didn't Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa's "Inside Track" column in today's (July 28th) Boston Herald suggest that WJMN-94.5 could become a target of a payola investigation??

The silence is deafening on this one especially on a board where everybody has an opinion but I think you'll see more discussion down the line if anything develops. Bring on the sacrificial lambs.
